Perspectives Film Festival (PFF) is an annual arts event that features breakthrough films that are thematically curated. Now in its twelfth year, the festival is an annual practicum course run by the faculty of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI). PFF is organised by undergraduates from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and is the first student-run film festival in Singapore. Perspectives Film Festival: Breakthroughs in Cinema 2019 will re-vision Crossroads, where intersections among people, places, and even in the imaginary are no longer as simple as they seem. What happens when strangers with conflicting ideas, biases and assumptions come together and confront impossible decisions?
As the Festival Graphic Designer, I created key visuals, posters, promotional flyer, programme booklet, and merchandises for the festival. Inspired by the theme - Crossroads, key visual was created based on the reference to Janus, the god of beginnings, transitions, passages, and endings. The use of shadows serves to translate the duality of the decisions prompted at the crossroad.
